Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the people, processes, procedures and related controls to ensure timely and accurate production in accordance with customer specifications and company standards. The Production Supervisor is a hands on, working manager accountable for the design, documentation, implementation, audit and continuous improvement for all production related standard work, projects and related systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervises production team on assigned shift.
  • Executes Plant’s safety program by being a champion for safety and treating it as a priority and meeting all company safety and OSHA standards.
  • Responsible for producing product to ensure production meets scheduled requirements at approved staffing levels.
  • Ensure proper training of all employees regarding Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety, Quality, Materials Consumption, and other company procedures.
  • Responsible for documentation of production and materials related data and identifying usage variances compared to standards following up with specific/effective corrective actions.
  • Handles employee concerns and employee performance and or relations issues
  • Updates and communicates labor needs regularly.
  • Provides and receives feedback to develop employees and future leaders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Production Plant Manager

Basic Qualifications
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a food manufacturing management or supervisory role
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent preferred but not required
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish a must

Work Enviroment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The work environment is mostly warm on the manufacturing floor. The Production Supervisor will spend 90% of their time in the factory


Phyical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is infrequently required to sit; The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Summary

This position will develop and oversee all quality and regulatory programs, processes, and policies for Fiesta Tortilla's suppliers, distributors, co-manufacturers and co-packers. The position will assure adherence to Fiesta's policies and standards and requirements through a variety of methods, including but not limited to, auditing and monitoring. The position will identify and assure implementation of processes and structure to pave the way for innovation and growth by setting standards and priorities. This role also includes staying current with and sharing process improvements, best demonstrated industry practices, and spreading awareness of standards and priorities throughout the Fiesta Tortillas organization. This position requires in-depth knowledge of regulations, plus compliance with food safety and quality standards.
This position will work collaboratively with many other functional areas, including Sales, Operations and Co-Man/Co-Packers. The position must assure adequate and clear communications (both written and verbal) within Operations, across Fiesta leadership team.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure correct and consistent quality processes are followed
  • Optimize and standardize all quality and food safety programs to ensure consistency throughout the supply chain
  • Ensure all recall procedures are well documented within the scope of the quality control procedures
  • Establish quality KPIs with the goal of continuous improvement in all aspects
  • Create and maintain corporate quality manual
  • Manage emerging issues and consumer contact trends
  • Facilitate and communicate quality issues with Operations team
  • Promote a positive and collaborative working environment between Fiesta Tortillas and the co-packers
  • Provide recommendations to ensure Fiesta understands the balance between performance and quality

Basic Qualifications
  • BS in Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the food industry and experience with manufacturing quality systems, SQF standards and auditing
  • Strong knowledge of quality policies/procedures
  • Strong data-based and analytical problem solving skills, including statistical analysis and root cause analysis
  • Excellent leadership capabilities with strong influencing skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working in an environment with multiple co-manufacturers/co-packers
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving, and collaborative entrepreneurial environment
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create SSOP’s/ SOP’s/ Checklists for all sanitation related tasks.
  • Order Sanitation Supplies.
  • Create training for operations on proper sanitation procedures.
  • Master Sanitation and monitor for completion.
  • Assist, direct, coach, lead and supervise all Sanitation personnel constantly raising the standard of performance.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety plan, GMP’s and OSHA requirements.
  • Perform sanitation tasks as required.
  • Train employees in cleaning procedures, use of protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of cleaning agents.
  • Assist with GMP and HACCP education of employees
  • Assist QA Manager in building and improving quality and sanitation systems.
